Just a quick hello to introduce myself. I have never used one of these sites before, so I hope that any mistakes I make will be forgiven.
Well it appears that I am the first person to see your post, so I will say welcome to the site ! No doubt you will take some time to familiarise yourself, but don't be afraid to post as you see fit, without worry of mistakes. And don't be concerned about asking questions, we are all learning off each other (except me, I am learning off everyone! ).
Enjoy the site.
I never new how to grow weeds before coming on here. Now, well, I have loads of 'em.
Welcome....you have a plot/garden? Tell us about your growing life. (Not your growing life, your plant growing life.)
And try the 'Search' facility to see what's been said before.
Thank you for your welcome messages.
I was asked about my plant growing life. Well, apart from my own little patch as a child, I didn't really start gardening until after my father died almost two years ago, which meant I had the whole garden to play with.
Last year was spent mainly getting rid of old, ugly, metal framework (loads of it) that used to support runner beans, everlasting pea, etc and also getting rid of the numerous weeds that were taking over the garden. But I still had a very successful year with tomatoes grown in pots ( garden ones got blight), strawberries and mini corn.
I've ordered my seeds for this year and hope to grow more variety of things this year.
Welcome! ;D
Your outdoor Tom's will do better if you put a lid on 'em. IE; Keep the rain off. I tried 3 systems last year. One lot just outside, another under a mesh lid and the third under a plastic lid. The latter were fab. The other two were hit and miss regarding blight.
If you are a bit of a DIYer I'll send you a pic of the frame with plastic. Easy to construct.
Hello, Freesia, hope you enjoy logging on here - it's been said before but it really is a bit addictive as there is always something new to learn/try/discuss - we are all on a permanent learning curve but hopefully having a bit of a laugh at the same time!

Thank you for the advice Kenkew. I'm not much of a DIYer, but may try the frame for my tomatoes this year. I used the 'search' facility for the first time and found your instructions for the frame - although the pictures do not appear to still be available - but I get the idea, anyway. Thanks again.
I love this site.
Also, thank you to everyone for your welcoming messages.
