Thanks, Mike. Sad - looking back on all the destruction. So difficult to see it as a good thing these days?

So glad I was not in Bomber Command. I don't think that my nerves would have coped.

If you Google 'tim elkington' you'll see that I had a much easier time!!

And Richard - 'like me'? - like the 31 out of 36 of my Typhoon squadron who did give their lives. I was spared, so I must make good use of the extra time allowed?
