Hi, I just got a delivery of free seed potatoes (Adora) and I'm trying to lay them out to chit them, but I can't tell one end from another, and work out which is the rose end. Any tips? Does it matter if I lie them the wrong way up?

Ah, the T&M special. We got some too. On most of ours the sprouts were just becoming visible. But as Tim says, it doesn't matter. You can always turn them the right way up after they start to sprout.
It'll be interesting to see how they turn out. I can't help feeling that a "low calorie potato" is a bit of a contradiction in terms. Like low fat lard or extra dry water.
Hmm..wouldn't have been my first choiceeither , but I can foist them on my calorie counting friends ;D

True. Of course, they may turn out to be a real find - fantastic for roasties or baking or something. To be honest, I quite like trying new varieties, although like you I wouldn't have chosen them if they hadn't come as part of the offer. I'm sure that there are a few people on A4A with these. We'll have to compare notes come late May or whenever they start to crop.
Turn them?? They stay where they are put. I have better things to do!!
And they know which way is up.
