Take no notice. This is a terrible place. You get in among the pages and you've no time left for gardening!
Welcome JJ.

Welcome, both!  Guarantee whatever you ask someone on here will actually have an answer. There are people who grow wide ranges of every vegetable you can imagine, people who grow "exotics", people who are real experts - and all modest with it believe me but I'm not one of them I am more a pot luck grower but so far it's worked pretty well!!

Hello all thank you for the warm welcome. My question is i have a 20 year old flowering cherry in my front garden last year the leaves looked healthy but they were curled under at the edges also the privit nearest to it was the same also an old lilac tree the rest of my hedge was fine.any ideas please.
Iv'e had the allotment for about four year it was a lot of work at first but well worth it.Some disasters but mostley great.

You problem could be the aphid. It also gives of a sugary solution. This sugary solution can cause something else called sooty mold. That put a black sooty loooking film over the leaf and stops it photosynthesising. (Think I spelt that correct  ::)

I have done a bit of googling and found this so I hope it helps.

Cherry Blackfly.

Good luck with your plot this year. Welcome to A4A.

Thank you The_Snail  for your reply but the leaves are perfectly normal exept for the curling. I think maybe that there is a deficiency in the soil but i dont know.
                                            any more ideas out there
                                                   Thanks  JO JO
