Title: DIY on frogponds
Post by: kenkew on January 25, 2006, 12:37:19
Did this one last year and it's still going well down the plot. Dead easy to make.
Empty water container, mark and cut with a jig-saw. Hot air gun will warm the 'ladder' bits. Dig a hole, level it up and fill. If you make sure the cap of the container is towards the top, you can control over-flow if required.

Out of interest we have a buried bath with frogs in. All the water (possibly) freezed solid this winter. How do frogs deal with this or do they just croak!

Wintering frogs tend to hide in scrub or under logs etc. The only problem with freezing water in containers is that the container might split. The one above is soft enough to allow for expansion. Also doubles as a bird wash/drinks facility.

Functional, but going by the looks i would'nt expect to see it on ground force... although i could be wrong. I've god an old sink for my frogs.

I've no intention of selling it to Ground Force, this idea is strictly for A4A members only.
