Title: Thank you DJBrenton
Post by: Diana on January 25, 2006, 09:46:29
Hi Jeremy

Thank you so much for the seeds (Callaloo + West Indian Pumpkin), they arrived this morning.

Hope no-one minds me starting this thread - I'm guessing there'll be a few who will add to it!

And me! Wonderful Wednesday surprise. Thank you very much. Is there anything you'd like in return, as I'd have to buy a smallholding to plant all the seeds I now own? :)

Thanks DJ BRENTON
Callaloo seeds arrived today.
Do you think they will grow in a polytunnel? The garden is rather taken up with dogs, poultry and rescued parakeets, oh and budgies.
I know very little about Callaloo but always like to try something different.

The particular callaloo seeds I sent are suitable for outdoor growing but they will thrive even better in a polytunnel. One of our growers raises them with heat and starts cropping them in April!!
I'd sow them at the same time as anything else non-hardy, March indoors for planting outdoors or maybe earlier if you're keeping them indoors. They can be transplanted closer than brassica ( 9-12" ) and should crop from maybe late July till the first frost.

Thank you for the seeds (turnip and anasazi beans) these are very gratefully received having turned up this morning.   If you have any needs yourself let me know and I will see what I have either veg, flower or things like cayenne pepper, sweet pepper (capsicum) etc.

Thanks again,  Iain
