Title: Aphids...
Post by: Georgie on January 21, 2006, 18:07:01
...in January!  Yes, I kid you not.  I was watering the cuttings and seedings in the mini greenhouse today and sure enough there were aphid eggs on one of my Aquilegia seedings.  :(  Rubbed 'em off of course, but don't expect to be dealing with these pests at this time of year.  Needless to say I saw no friendly ladybirds or hoover flies.

My over wintering chilli plant on my windowsill needs a regular degreenflying.

Well this post made me look at my Euphorbia 'cos most years it gets aphids. Sure enough, there where the bracts are curled over at the end, covered in the little b*****s. As you say, no predators. I might try & give them a water blast.

Oh, so it's not just here then.  Yeah, a water blast or some soft soap solution should do the trick.  Just seems so unfair so early on in the year tho'.
