The more light...the longer time for...
GARDENING!
Cant wait ;D ;D ;D
Heard the birds singing at 6.36am today. And they woke my daughter up! I guess I'd better get the blackout curtains out of the airing cupboard and hang them again.
Hurrah, evenings are already light until 4.30 rather than 4. Bring on spring!!
Saw a flock of birds flying NORTH today, that must be a good sign!
For anyone else as daylight-obsessed as me you can track the sunrise and sunset times with this site:

The world clock bit is very handy too if you call international like I do :)
the birds were having a good blether about 5:30 this morning
I'm still waiting for last summer to arrive.

I've got to admit it, I don't actually have an allotment :o :o :o! After all this website is for gardeners aswell?! I like it anyway! Its a great website wiht really friendly people in. I have a good talk and learn lots- great! It's not that i don't want an allotment, i would LOVE one! I juts don't have the time to be up there every other day! Never mind, on eday I will, Dan :-)
Dan, I don't have one either and there are a few more of us, but it doesn't matter, we still have problems, successes or whatever that we can share and I learn so much ready for when OH finally gives in and lets me have one. I am going to dig up some more lawn in protest at the weekend!

Getting shorter and shorter now everyone!
It was almost light by the time I got to work this morning. Mind you I was a bit later than usual!
Two weeks ago I was at a school in Leamington, and arrived at the station in the dark. Today I went back, and arrived in broad daylight.
how many days to go now D2? ;) ;D
Still plenty of time for more heavy frosts, snow, hail, my clems to go into shock..... LPs sledge might just still come in useful!
Get your snow shoes ready... ;D
Sod the shoes, I'm battoning down the hatches, buying food in tins, stocking up on candles and turning up the heating!
We have had horrendous winds today and wind chill factor raw, but the days definitely getting longer here too. We still have light and it is 4.15 . it is a start! As you say Plocket plenty of time for winter snow and ice. Still counting down with you though Dan2 - you have got to have hope it is not too far away. :) busy_lizzie

I discarded some lupins last year and where I had laid them prior to burning is smothered in lupin seedlings all germinated ..Marvellous eh if we had set them outside bet they wouldnt have germinated this early ...But it must mean summat is happening .. Roll on the mad season ..Cheers ..Jim
