Heard the birds singing at 6.36am today. And they woke my daughter up! I guess I'd better get the blackout curtains out of the airing cupboard and hang them again.

Saw a flock of birds flying NORTH today, that must be a good sign!

For anyone else as daylight-obsessed as me you can track the sunrise and sunset times with this site:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=136&obj=sun&month=1&year=2006&day=1 (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=136&obj=sun&month=1&year=2006&day=1)

The world clock bit is very handy too if you call international like I do  :)

Dan, I don't have one either and there are a few more of us, but it doesn't matter, we still have problems, successes or whatever that we can share and I learn so much ready for when OH finally gives in and lets me have one.  I am going to dig up some more lawn in protest at the weekend!

We have had horrendous winds today and wind chill factor raw, but the days definitely getting longer here too.  We still have light and it is 4.15 .  it is a start!  As you say Plocket plenty of time for winter snow and ice.  Still counting down with you though Dan2 - you have got to have hope it is not too far away.  :) busy_lizzie

Its on it's way the rhubarb looks like loads of pink bubbles popping up.
I discarded some lupins last year and where I had laid them prior to burning is smothered in lupin seedlings all germinated ..Marvellous eh if we had set them outside bet they wouldnt have germinated this early ...But it must mean summat is happening .. Roll on the mad season ..Cheers ..Jim
