Should do - apparently they like yellow - so long as it has real sugar in it & not a sugar substitute (which might attract them but wouldn't feed them properly).  Do you need to make some sugar solution to fill it or does it come with some?

you need to make up your own solution
i was thinking maybe 1tsp of sugar dissolved in a cup of water ( hopefully that'll be dilute enough for them) & just soak the sponge daily

Have seen various things on different websites suggesting anything from one part sugar to two parts water to one part sugar to nine parts water - sounds to me as though exact ratio doesn't matter so long as it's thoroughly sugary!  :)

Nectars very from about 5% sugar up to about 30%.

Robert would bumble bees also use it?

They might, I'm not sure. A bit of scent in the water would help insects to find it.
