OMG there's one in my own home town!! 

In the high street surely it won't sell bamboo canes too? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-[

Hi Flowerlady,

The Poundland which is on a city centre shopping street here has had canes from 3ft up to 8ft every year for several years so its worth a look.
I do like it when all the bargain shops get their garden supplies in.  :D

I found some, birdseed that is!!  Am amazed one can find this kind of thing on the High Street!

Also have canes, Shall have some very happy flowers this summer - no soggy petals  ;)

GW, who is it that comes to your bird table that goes for the seed?

Here the dominant diner are greenfinch.  Lovely little things,  But recently I have not seen any!  :'(  Do they migrate away

the stuckies & bluetits will eat them out of the feeders
the blackies & sparrows eat what they drop
i get loads of chaffies but never had any greenfinches

Ooh, ta for that! Will keep an eye out when I'm next near one..

Incidentally, Poundland often have nice wastebaskets which would make fantastic planters if you drilled a few holes in the bottom.. :D

Poundland's a great shop for gardeners - I bought a load of lilies last year and they were  great ...much cheapness !
