11.30pm last night. Radiator in kitchen leaking.
10am This morning. I knew I had a slight leak in car radiator. Water running fast today. Grandson (mechanic) thinks I will have to buy new radiator (not cheap for a Neon)
10.30am this morning. Hoovering like mad to tidy house before visitors arrive at noon.. Three week old hoover packs up.
Am I disheartened. NO!! What the heck, from noon until 9.30pm had a smashing day with Charlies sister and B.I.law from Kent. Lovely pub lunch with little drinky drops. At my place for tea where some of my kids turned up. 10 0f us. Hilarious evening with good company.
Hope Bank Manager is in good mood tomorrow!! ;D ;D
That's the attitude, Lorna - will all look brighter in the morning - unless you have a wee hangover!! Not the time of year for unexpected expense tho is it...........
Good for you Lorna! As Wicker says, tomorrow is another day. Hang on though, and sorry to mention it, isn't it Friday 13th?  :o So don't go walking under ladders! Only joking I am sure everything will be fine. :) busy_lizzie
Well done you Lorna, reckon we could all take a leaf out of your book and 'always look on the bright side of life', isn't that a cue for a song too :)
Pleased you enjoyed the rest of your day :D
I'm glad your day got better Lorna, sounds like a wonderful evening. Hope you manage to get everything fixed soon. I think you have a wonderful family around you. :)
Well Lorna ;D ;D
Glad you had a Great time.....really ;)
Thanks for all your comments. My little problems are zilch when I think of other people's problems and worries.(Might not still be laughing when Grandson rings me with price of car radiator ???) Anyhow busy-lizzie, thanks for reminding me about 13th!! Daughter-in-law took me to get Elsa from kennels this morning, she removed parcel shelf and Elsa sat in the boot. (Elsa isn't allowed in sons Supra :'() Anyhow wizzing along the A47 and the ruddy boot flew open!!! Elsa was just siting there looking out the back. Yeah busy-lizzie it is the 13th ;D
Oh Heck Lorna, thats my worst nightmare come true!
When I take eldest daughter to the stables at the weekend I always take the dog and she sits in the boot - daughter has a tendancy to slam the boot really hard after shes deposited dirty riding boots etc in there so I always have to double check that it has shut properly - she slams it so hard that I worry it might have popped open again :( :o
Pleased Elsa was Ok though - probably wondering what all the fuss was about! ;)
There's another song I try to think of when I'm having a bad day: "Things....... can only get better"!!!!! It's great that you are so positive Lorna - keep it up!
Plocket ;D ;D ;D All is well in this household..What would life be like with out these little incidents? ::) ::)
They sure keep us on our toes and make us appreciate the good things!!!
Or alternatively "don't worry, be happy"
Sorry to let you know about this Lorna but it is Friday 13th. :-[
Supposedly one of the most unluckyest days in the calendar.
Ah, Lorna, glad things are all ok in the end.
Grrrr @ cars when they go wrong. So needlessly expensive!
My mum used to say, "you'll never have money while you've got a car"
Reassured that I wasn't the only one to have a bad day yesterday, Friday 13th. Glad all is now well Lorna.
I now have two completely empty plots. Asked the Council to give me a hand to shift scrap metal from one of my new plots, gave them written list and photo and they've cleared absolutely everything on both plots, shuttering for raised beds, water butt, fencing posts, everything! Been down the Council yard and identified some of the stuff but mypex and wire netting have disappeared.
Like Chriszog, we moved plots to avoid vandals, seems like the biggest vandals are the Council.
Moan over. Today is the 14th. I will survive!
Lorna, sorry to hear about your catastrophes.
Not a bad day for us but a few bad weeks! Our oven packed up just before Christmas so had to cook Christmas and New Year's dinner in Caravan oven. On New Year's day, sat down with family to do a quiz using DVD player and that packed up. Fortunately my son had a player in his room so brought it downstairs. A week ago our larder fridge packed up working. Only 4 or 5 years old but as they charge such a lot to come out and repair we have decided to buy new one. We will replace with an American fridge /freezer, something I have always wanted, but have to take down an internal wall in order to get one in. Never ending but at least we have had our three things now!
Pauline OMG!! I thought I had problems. Grandson has ordered new rad for car which he will put into me at trade (bless him) It turned out better than I expected.Radiator in kitchen still leaking slightly, did stop when brother-in-law tightened joint but now leaking again. Now I am not going mad (or am I) this morning I thought I wonder if the wall socket was dodgy when hoovering on Thursday, so I plugged hoover in to different socket....WORKING--- tried in the hall one again ...Working!!. Yes I did have the socket switched on (Thursday) I even checked the RCD (or whatever it is called) nothing had "tripped". All I can think of is that we had a short power cut, I wouldn't have noticed as no computer or television was on. OH well!!!!
That's one happy ending then Lorna, not having to get another vacuum cleaner. ;D ;D
Concerning my bad things, Hubbie found out that the wall was supporting and we cannot take it down. The American fridge/freezer has flown out the door again :'( so will have to settle for another larder fridge or get this one repaired. Hubbie has said that we could have a separate ice maker to go with the water cooler that we already have, so there would be no need for an American fridge/freezer. Second best I suppose but just haven't got the room to fit in such a massive big thing.
