We are after some jucie, sweet garden peas. What types do any of you recomend. We will be growing from seed.
Thanks Joji :)
I have always had a good crop off "Hurst Greenshaft".Depends whether you want early or maincrop etc.
Alan
Thanks for the reply Alan. I think we will try and early crop if there are some sweet ones and a main crop later if the same applies. :)
Somebody recommended Waverex on here last year so I am going to have a go with those this year.
I like Waverex (petit pois type) and Hurst Greenshaft, both very good. I grew another last year, but can't find the empty packet - think it was called Twinkle - if so, that was good too.
I am a fan of traditional mushy peas, and have been recommended 'Lincoln' for this purpose, the object being to make a large panful and freeze off in small portions ... I have no other comments to add ...
There is a thread about `Alderman`-and a fine pea it is-but for me the best is Hurst Green Shaft
Thanks guys. Might give them all a go.
DTF my OH loves mushies too. Will deffo give them a go. Thanks :)
