Title: apple site
Post by: fbgrifter on January 07, 2006, 09:59:55
Can anyone recommend a good site for buying apple trees.  I need a good variety of choice of feathered maidens or perhaps part-trained espalier for a decent price.  Ken Muir is just too expensive.  Thanks in advance.

I have bought apples from Buckingham Nurseries, Keepers Nurseries. Marshalls, and also believe it or not Homebase (£10),
There is a link here too:

Hope this helps.

Phew good news about Adams apples (www.talatonplants.co.uk). I'm waiting for my trees at the moment they have been very helpful and friendly. I guess though their range might be a bit limited now though since I ordered mine back in September and they had already allocated all of some variaties.

Bodolph, I think mine arrived about this time last year, I remember that I wasn't quite ready -partly because of a major rethink that meant that fruit bushes went in the apple holes- and I heeled them in for a while. They all survived and I'm hoping for my first apples from the cordons this year.

I've been dithering about buying a cider apple -next year now though.

I found Adam Apples good as well. I purchased 5 trees (3 apple and 2 pear) from them about 12 months ago. I went back to them this year for another 5 apple trees and a number of fruit bushes. They all arrived yesterday. Weather permitting I will plant them at the weekend. I have the holes already dug ( and covered with tarpaulin) for the apples trees.
