At the beginning of this year there were 3130 (approximately) registered members of A4A. Of these 1558 had posted a message, the rest had not. That is a difference of 1572
More to follow.
Edited to amend figures after a recount.
Blimey...are they still active? Perhaps they're all shy...

They must be out their judging the number of guests that are on line some day's,may be they are a little overwrought by not trying to make a fool of your self. May be time for a board just for Newbee's and all the rest keep out :o :o just to get them going.
Good idea Grassroots. Get that Wardy manacled, or summert... ;)
perhaps they have not all recovered from new year yet ;) ;)
Of those who posted, 26% have blue eyes whereas 42% of those who didn't post had blue eyes.
On average, the top 126 posters use the letter 'l' almost 8% more often than the remaining posters.
50.1% of members post less often than the rest.
The most common time for non-posters to not post is 8.26 a.m.
There are 23 members who don't post almost 43% of the non-posts.
Based on figures from Nov 12th 2004 to Jan 2nd 2006, the average number of non-posts per day is 6.73.
That sounds like political speak DJB ... ;D
And how many days has Derek the Foxy January Man been logged into A4A?
i know on another board, they have a board called the newbinator. for all the newbies to post and sey hello.
Funny you should mention that, Eric. When I was looking at the birthdays approaching, I had a look at each board member to see if they are still active (no point in wishing happy birthday to somebody who hasn't posted since 1957) and almost all of them had joined but NEVER posted. Maybe a lot of people like to read all of the information/advice but care not to participate?
694 Newbies
535 Not So New
93 Junior Members
91 Full Members
46 Senior Members
49 Gods
48 with the ability to post Pictures (These may be anything from Newbies to Gods.)
2 Admin entries.
And if that don't add up properly blame my calculator.
More to come.
Only 49 Gods.....I would have thought more.
It's the same with any discussion site; a few people make most of the noise, and a lot just lurk. The quality of the site depends largely on whether the noisy vessels have anything in them.
im a god now so make that 50
;D
Deification at last! Even Roman emperors had to die before they got that, and all we have to do is manage 500 posts.

Far too many, I think Multiveg ... ;D :-[
Of the first 20 people to register(by date, all in April 2003) and to post at least one message, only one is still active, as far as I can see. That person posted yesterday (04. 01 06)
Awww wonder what happened to the others? :-\
This happens on almost every site. My son runs a site for sign makers and the number of members who registered (by the nature of their business checks are made to prove they are genuine sign making businesses) does not reflect the members who post.. Like Eric has pointed out the same applies to A4A.
Also remember that the first to join will have found the site unhelpfully quiet and wandered off to what were at the time busier sites.
A group I run has nearly 800 members with around 2000 posts a week. After two years, there are only 5 or 6 of the original members left ( we opened the site with 30 members transferring from a group that was closing). I suspect the number of people active hasn't risen much from when we had 100 members, certainly the post count has been pretty static.
603 people appear to have joined in the first year. I will do a chart when I learn how.
isn't there a kind of table in the 'Other Stats' section?
OOooo just looked, we're creeping up on you Max!! ;D and Russ is about to go into space! ;D ;)
This is a very interesting thread and I would think there is a lot of socialogical value in studying data like this. Very telling in many ways.
A chart of members joining in the first year.
The red shows the people who joined and the green is the number who posted at least one message after joining.
Chart for 2005
Eric. I find that quite interesting. Have been scrolling backwards and forwards to make comparisons. DOH!!! Why didn't I think of printing out, have now done so. Thanks for spending your time on theses statistics.
Interesting to see that 2394 people joined between 12 midday and 12 midnight (PM) while only 753 joined between Midnight and 12 noon (AM).
Was that before or after the reform of licensing hours?
778 of those joining PM posted while 402 of those joining AM have posted, making it a slightly higher percentage of those who joined in a morning having something to say.
I know nothing of licensing hours at all, sorry.

And thanks for that handy tip, Lorna! I too was scrolling up & down til I came to your posting... ::)
Time I wasn't here, now, but hope to come back to this later..many thanks, Eric :-* Lishka
What are licensing hours ?
TM was joking about the licensing hours in pubs and clubs.
The final chart, unless someone has any other questions to ask.
This chart shows the number of postings against the number of members. So for example 878 members have posted 1 to 9 messages.
Yeah and most of what us in the 1000's have posted is a load of pants ;D
Speak for yourself RC!! ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D
