hi just wanting to know when is the best time to start onions seeds off

Any time from now is good, assuming you have somewhere suitable to start the seed, eg a greenhouse ...

Hi Terry and welcome.. If  You are growing show onions and If You have somewhere to keep  them at  around 50f with a bit of light and Your going to pot them on .You can sow them now..
But if they are for the table I would delay sowing  them until about early March ..See what others say ..cheers ..Jim

Have to say I agree with Growmore,  sowed mine in March last year and was very pleased with the end result.
