I should have guessed yesterday when that little brass monkey asked if I knew a welder.
Very unusual for down here on the south island but it dropped to at least 7 below last night. Good job I took notice this year and got the tender plants wrapped up in time. Might have lost a nice yellow hibiscus as it looked a bit droopy this morning, but it has been growing outside for the last 3 years with no problem.
The salt in the air helps a bit but the cold wind does burn them a bit .
