Just seen the weather report, looks like we'll be getting snow tomorrow here in the southeast. It can snow all it wants for the next week but come January it must all stop as I've got some serious weeding to do :)
Oh please, please, please Jess!! I've had me tobogan in and out of that blessed shed....but yup agree, week would be nice....shall we put in an order?? ??? ;)
I'm really hoping it will snow....a lot! I bought a tobogan a few years ago and we've not used it yet, oh heavens where did I put it, it's probably hiding underneath about 4 years of junk? ::)
or just slide about on the junk??? If it slides, sit on it!!! Tea trays are excellent, and have been know to use a bin bag, but that doesn't work wonderfully well...
Well it has just said on the tv that it is to sweep in from the east and is to cover the whole country eventually. The east and south east is to get a good load of it and it is to work it's way over to the west ;D
Yes tea trays work excellently, until you hit a bump ...
Snow........ >:( Cut off, landie embedded in a tree and no power.......that's what snow means to me. >:(
Is Wardy there? Me and the OH are planning on going for a walk around Edale tomorrow and we are now worried about the weather - it can snow while we are there - don't mind kipping on a school hall floor for a while but do want to be able to get there.
Kinder Scout? Snow? :o :o

Derek, dare I ask what happens when you hit a bump?
Cocyyx?
ooo sore cocyx.....real sore......
::) ::) ::)
I hope it snows long and hard enough to hinder my return to work tomorrow ;D
I love the snow. I know it's not pleasant for drivers and I appreciate that, but as a non driver and a complete child at heart, I do truly love the snow. Yay!

A dented tray, a bruised butt and a crushed coccyx. ::)
That's three attempts at spelling it - anyone else fancy a try?
Sorry coccyx is correct. :)
Yellow Petals, I feel exactly the same as you about snow, yay! :D
And I have had personal experience of a crushed coccyx, from my iceskating forays. Definitely something to be avoided ...
as long as we can make it to the airport ok, i dont mind. we are flying to germany where they have had loads of snow in the last day or two ;D
Have a nice time Svea :)
Sounds like fun Svea, yes, have a lovely time.
snow this morning in bucks
Yeeeeeehhhhaaaaaa!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Loads in Suffolk...... as she pelts out ot the house..... slips down the slope, rolls to the shed.....and gets out her TOBOGAN!!!!! Sees you later........................ ;D ;D ;D
Very light covering here. Sun is shining so maybe it will dissapear.
Lottie. Helloeeeeeeeee as voice echoes far and wide. Where did you land up? Would have to pull the d*mn thing round here... no hills!!!!
It's snowing in Horsham, very lightly but I can see some heavy clouds in the distance, better go find that tobogan underneath all the junk :D
Woke up to almost a blizzard here in Coventry, but it has stopped now, and the sky is blue, so digging for me a little later I think.
It's currently snowing up here at Castle Donington (next to East Midlands Airport). I'm currently looking out of my office window watching the white stuff come down & praying I can get home when my shift finishes this afternoon.
CC
Pelts back in to answer Lorna...removes hat, gloves, scarf, snow shoes and bin bag..... hey Lorns!! Â ;D ;D ;D bottom of a slope strangely... ::) ;)
pelts back out to rescue toboggan from compost heap......
see you out there, Jess!!!! Last one down's a banana!!! Â ;D
Good luck CC
;D ;D
Dadburned goldarned infernal dangblasted maledictional snow wasn't heavy enough to stop me going to work! Unless there is a sudden blizzard within the next twenty minutes I'm done for! ;D
We had about tem minutes' worth of snow just now. Yellow Petals, you should move to Cornwall; any snow at all is sufficient to stop work there. I remember the time we had about an eighth of an inch whole I was down there; everyone took the day off, and the plant at the top of the village had to close for the day. Most of the employees lived in the village and management were furious, but there was nothing they could do about it.
ITS BLIZZARDING NOW!!!! whhheeeeeehhhaaaayyyyyy!!! ;D ;D ;D
Going out to stand outside, mouth open and eat it....
73 degrees in the shade here in Yorkshire: sunny with a light breeze. Just popping out to pick some apricots...
Snow, snow and more snow, guess you musta got to work then YP, never mind thers always tommorrow ;)
Loadsa the stuff here and more forecast I love it, made 2 snowfolks ;D in garden went to plot this morning were the first peeps there which was fabby dabby doooooooooo ;D coz made lots of fresh footprints tyre tracks....................
don't want anymore though because we are supposed to be visiting my dad tommorrow and he lives in the sticks and gets cut off quite easily :(
OOops, OK Delilah......opens front door..." CAN YOU STOP NOW, PLEASE!! DELILAH'S OFF OUT....." All sorted... ::) ::) ::)
Throw one over, Max! Love apricots... :)
Well I managed a couple of hours digging, in the snow at some times, but the ground was still workable. It was nice to get home then for some hot coffee ...
ooo, I broke my coccyx and YOUCH, take it from me......AGONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Only a light fall here but now it has turned colder, getting dark and snowing quite heavily. Thought I was going to have a quiet day on my own, lo and behold son John and Grandson Lee turned up and then middle daughter Alyson, her partner and three kids turned up. Goes without saying that Lorna & co from next door have been in and out all day. I JUST LOVE IT :)
Lovely to hear you're having fun Lorna!! Have lost mine, very careless of me.... ;)
You have my sympathies there Emma, perhaps that must be amongst the worst agonies known (I accept that there are several ... )
no fair - you lucky people !!!
got no snow here :'( :'( :'(
It's a coming!!! Get your sledge at the ready.... ;D
Had quite a sprinkling here in Cambs this morning but mostly gone now - although just noticed some very large flakes falling right now! Â Hopefully it won't be too bad for a little while at least as hubbie just gone off to pick up Daughter No1 from work! Â
Did you know the plural of coccyx is coccyges? But I've only got one...
That must be a relief.... :)
It's a vestigial tail you know...
Bit of a misnaming then...
Help!! Can't find my sledge!! Where can I buy one from?
Couldn't even find a decent snow globe this year either. :'(
Tin tray!! And what's a snow globe? ???
Plural? Excuse my ignorance but doesn't the word itself mean assemblage of small bones? All I know is that if I had broke mine, like poor Emma has it wouldn't matter if they were singular or plural just bl**dy painful.
Anyhow TM am fed up with all this educamated (Imade that word up) stuff. Pleas speak in common language so that poor souls like me can understand. Happy New Year..Wehey more celebrations.
Snow Globe - snow scene in a bubble of glass.
Oh yes!! LOL!! Sorry, thicker than normal min there.... :P

Bit posh that 'n all!
am giggling away quite merrily to me little ole self ................you lot are brill it has to be said ;D :D :) ;D :D :)
Pic? I haven't forgotten you know..... ;D
I agree with your request Lorna, I am a simple soul too.
Flowerlady - we got mountains of the stuff..................honest.................................I'm not exagerating one little bit..........................anyway, got the sprogs filling the biggest box we could find with lots and lots of snow and will send by quick sharp courier :)(or might give Santa a call, he owes me one for letting him in few nights ago, no chimney you see, well we have, but got a stove at bottom so he couldn't get through that way - I digress) - its on its way Flowerlady enjoy!!!!!!!!!!! ;D :D :)
Lottie - you sound like me mother now, bet you were wagging finger when you said that!!!!!!! ;D
Lottie don't worry your pretty little head about the pic. I am thinking (takes a long time) as to what my private message will be to Delilah. If I am my usual clever self she will be glad to post a pic.
|Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goody goody! ;D ;D ;D
Love snow ball battles ;D ;D ;D
Well, I have created a snow sculpture.....it really should be in the Tate I feel, it's of a big orange.....very realistic..... will be attempting a grapefruit in the morning, us artistes need our rest, you know.... 8)
We didn't get much after all that excitement, by this evening it's practically all melted away but I can hear it falling again outside so perhaps we'll wake to a lovely white countryside tomorrow.
There's supposed to be loads more, and it's snowing really heavily here now. Give you a chance to find your sledge, and we can have rerun tomorrow!!
Start blowing in this direction Lottie and send some here :D
On the case...though you could do the snow dance, of course.... tie a broom to your butt, put on all outdoor gear, big wellies, pine cone in your hat and shuffle up and down the street, chanting....." Ooohjyi dimg ooppoo" works every time.... :)
;D ;D ;D....in one word....NO! :o ;D
It's here!! We have snow...my new wellies will get to tread in snow....Yippeeee.....
Oh blast..I have to go to work tomorrow...not fair!!!!
Do the dance and you may be snowed off.....go on.....nudges...give it a whirl.. ;D
Reckon peeps might need a piccy of you doing the dance Lots then they will know exactly what to do ;) ;D
Will get OH to take piccy of me doing the dance in my wellies!!
Should whip up a snowstorm!!!
Can't you wear your wellies to work Becky?
Snowed today, much to these little peoples delight.

But they used it all up.....then what do you know, it has been snowing all evening and looks like they will be back out in it tomorrow!
Hoorah!
Smidge today...as for the rest, bad timing when I was hoping to bunk off and see old friends in very deep Gloucestershire........Can\t it wait until the weekend?
>:( >:( >:(
Bah Humbug re: snow!!
I work as a support worker for the elderly and drive to their homes to sort out geriatric crises. Have just finished a late shift and here in Oldham the snow is a nightmare!!
Gritters have done their bit.....but only on bus routes, not the smaller roads, so have skidded and slid my way around the borough all evening!!
But if I was 6 or 7 years old I would LOVE it!!!
;D ;D ;D
Yes, it is a nightmare for the elderly, I don't enjoy it that much either ! The snow angels look nice though ...
It's a nightmare in school as well; just class after class of overexcited kids, the odd idiot who thinks they can smuggle a snowball into a lesson and throw it when I'm looking the other way, etc. etc. What they never seem to realise is that I can watch an object fly through the air and work out exactly which desk it came from.
Robert That made me laugh. Years ago when my girls were little I would put them to bed and then I would hear one or two out of bed. I would call from OUTSIDE their closed bedroom door "Get back in to bed Alyson/Vickie" or who ever was guilty. They never found out for years that I would peep through the keyhole.
Ha ha ha Robert, that brings back memories !!! I won't say any more ...
Sorry EJ I meant to say what a lovely pic of the children, they certainly look as if they are enjoying themselves.
Well.... I've done the snow dance.......unfortunately, the camera couldn't be found.... ;D Still bitterly cold, and beginning to cloud again, so I think the dance may have done the trick.....
Lovely pics, EJ.
Lovely photos EJ :) We got another sprinkling last night but only very lightly, but what a gorgeous day today is with such bright sunshine.
It glorious outside, crisp and refreshing, total blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. 0.7 degs.
So how can it snow? :'( :'( :'(
Clouds, I think... ???
It's now beginning to cloud over here.....am huffin and puffin, keep your eyes peeled!! Tell me when to stop, cos need lay down... ??? ;D

And hello! ;D aubergine vol au vent?
Ha ha ha You look like you had more fun than your children pete !!!
Nice pic Pete. Bet fun was had by all!!
Hi Gardenpath. Big welcome to this site. Not much snow here in the Fens, did have a smallish fall last night which has made side roads dodgy but all main roads are OK. . Nice to have you aboard, tell us something about yourself, or maybe you have already done that on another thread....... Lorna.
hmmm...so much for the reports on telly about lots of snow in Kent.. About an inch and a half...pathetic!! I need snow for the weekend..my wellies need snow!

Hahahahah that takes me back a bit! Back when I was about thirteen, we had a lovely big downfall of snow and my mates and I had a huge snowball fight during break time. We were covered, head to toe and completely drenched. I had lumps of snow hanging out of my hair, etc. The minute I walked into class my French teacher - who was also my form tutor, marched me straight back out again, refusing to have me in her class until I had gone and made myself respectable! On the plus side, it meant I could stand under the dryers in the toilets for a little while as I was actually freezing ;D ;D
Went to throw a snowball at my husband this morning until he gave me the evil "dont you dare even think about it" eye over the top of the car. Thought better of it and got in quietly.
I created mayhem a time or two at school by opening the windows in my form room, which overlooked a large grassy area where they all played in the snow, then standing behind a window in the middle and shouting insults. Every time a snowball looked like coming close I closed my window, and meanwhile they were flying through all the others making an incredible mess.
Ha ha Robert, this is a mischievous side to you I wasn't aware of ... ;D
That's what the kids at school don't realise; teachers see straight through them because we've all done as bad if not worse in our day.
Well guys our snow has arrived. It came at 2 pm and we got a total white out. We can't even see over the back to our lottie or our van not more than 10 feet away from back door. ;D
joji. No more snow here, all the roads are now clear. Just a little on the garden but it is bitterly cold. If it keeps up for the weekend will you be racing the dogs? If so please get some pics for us.
the snow has arrived, very fine showers, most of it is settling, hopefully will get some more so the kids can go build a snowman and ski down the hills

I will try to remember the camara this time Lorna but at 5:30am my brain is still in bed till we get to the forest lol ;D
joji Do what I do when going on holiday. For things I need to take last minute I prop a note against the kettle.(Never go anywhere before I have had a cuppa!!) ;D
Thats a good idea Lorna. But I don't drink tea or coffee or any other hot drinks. :o :D
Stick it to your drinks cabinet then ;D
Easy win for your hubby's lot coming up on Saturday :'(
joji. Blimey. Do you drink fresh orange, squash drinks, water? Just put a flipping note on whatever you drink. Please!! Just so that we can get some pics.
I will stick it to the fridge where my lager is stored lol
??? ??? ???Hope the dogs can find their own way home. Hope you do get a great week end with them.

Idid hear on my local weather forcast that the middle of January is forcasted to be even worse than this for the whole country. Colder and heavier snow fall. I live in hope. ;D

If you haven't, you soon learn! I have very bad eyesight; all the kids know it's a real problem at times. But I can see motion perfectly well out of the corner of my eye. A couple of weeks before Christmas, one of them asked me, 'Sir, how is it that you're so blind, but you can still see everything we do?'
Robert
You mean you haven't told them of the teachers 'third' eye? :o
You sneaky devil ;) Keep 'em guessing that's what I say
Derek
Been snowing since 7am here in Chelsmford and it is stacking up! Apparently sleet and rain are on the way so think it might be over by lunch time!
Started sleeting and wind picked up early hours this morning, now it's all soggy rain and very dull, I'm going to hibernate today! :P
