After a terrible row with my daughter Alice today, I was wondering how to repair our relationship..... and i expect so was she, then the opportunity arose to wander down to the allotment to pick some leeks for tea. I carried the knife, she carried the torch, and we both discussed which were the fattest leeks.
All the ill-feeling dissolved away as we picked and chopped and wandered home with our food. Absolute magic.
Aww, glad to hear it!! Also think it very wise you gave her torch til row sorted.... ;D ;)
Magical places are plots, run away to mine at first sign of anything vaguely stressful.....or if I need carrots....
WHEN YOU SAID YOU CARRIED THE KNIFE I WAS EXPECTING AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ENDING...........
Nathan - that's a heart-warming story for a very cold morning. Nature cures.
(I also appreciated the Freudian imagery of the torch, the leeks and the knife...)
Talking of carrots ... some of my carrots also fit the Freudian imagery ... but they are still in the ground.
