Title: How to protect hens at the allotments?
Post by: RW on December 09, 2005, 23:53:48
Does anyone have special measures for protecting hens at allotments?

Do you use a locked gate? Any suggestions for increasing their security from human pests?

Thanks and regards

Well you get a 2000 volt battery or if there is a substation near by and attach a copper wire from either one to the boundry fence. If anyone but you tries to get in well ::)   *joke * ;D

Tins well dug in with high fencing and a lock on the gate, plus a big cockerel seem to work OK at our allotments, the bigest problem is keeping Badgers and Foxes out.

the way i look at protecting my lotti is if i lost my keys how would i get in  and as long as i can get in to  my plot then its not secure the only time it will be is if i have to call out a locksmith to get in  but i always look at my next door  plot cos usually they come in from that direction cos they may not be as secure minded as u r
