Hi all, :D,
I have bought seed of this cucumber, any one out there got any feedback about its qualities? I want to grow the plants up a wigwam of bamboo canes, does this seem a good idea? Thanks.
Adrian.
Hello adrian,
I grew this the year before last, and intend to grow it again next year. The actual fruit is delicious, about the size of a lemon, and certainly worth trying. My plants didn't actually grow that tall, but I just put simple canes up, and they may have struggled to climb vertically, without a trellis. Mine ended up at about 4 ft high, perhaps slightly less. The wigwam sounds a good idea.
Hope you are pleased.

Have put these on our order for next year as they are new to us so glad to read your post Derek - a personal recommendation is always helpful and I promise I won't make sarcy comment if they turn out as mediocre as this years "specialist" prickly variety did!! :D
I have grown them for the last three years and they are superb!! Very crisp and juicy, but not a big crop. Here is the Glasgow area, I grow them in a cool greenhouse, and they grow to the roof by the end of the year.
Yes I did not get a massive crop, but that may have been down to the condition of the soil, one part of my garden is lacking in nutrients I believe ...
