Title: Super Rocket
Post by: paddyx on December 06, 2005, 17:41:17
I put a trough of rocket on our balcony in the hope of having a few green things to eat. It hasn't grown into anything huge or amazing, but it's been covered in snow and had a few frosts - I've totally neglected it (apart from eating it) and it's still growing! At least I can pretend that I'm "eating my greens", scattering a few leaves in my dinner.

if it gets well below zero you might have to cover it with some fleece.
by the way, there is a perennial variety, much stronger in flavour and good to eat really only in spring. it is very frosthardy, as it is a native plant round here. (Dipoltaxis tenuifolia)

Mine arrived today as well, which was a surprise as I'd forgotten I'd asked for them and was expecting it to be the peppers for the Gardeners World trial! I applied online within a minute of the programme ending but have heard nothing. Has anyone got the seeds yet?
