Title: Strawberry planting
Post by: Salpott on December 06, 2005, 11:36:28
I've been given some strawberry plants - should I pop them in now or pot them up and leave planting  them til the Spring? I'm not sure what they are.....apart from organic.

I would plant them up now, they need a period of chilling to get them to produce fruit next year.

Thanks for pointing that out sanders, I have just acquired an old kitchen bin, that I was going to cut holes in the side to make a strawberry planter ... I know now to get on with this job asap ...

Hi Salpott

I have just put 22 strawberry plants in they have been in my dads garden in a tower & needed more space as they had already been in a mild frost we figured that they would be OK. I also put the little plantlets in pots in the greenhouse.

The little chaps seem to have spread right around dads garden there still some waiting to be dug up.
