Animated gifs do not seem to work if you upload them to the A4A server. They have to be hosted on photobucket and linked to this site through hosted elsewhere bit in your profile.
But your avatar is uploaded to the A4A server Redclanger ...

My avatar is located at http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/redclanger/lcfc_imp_anim2.gif and I have my own pic: is checked in Forum profile information. When I had a static avatar it was uploaded to A4A using the I will upload my own picture: option.
