mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Bottle my sloe gin and damson gin today ready for Christmas. They have both been steeping for 3 months are of course, as i perfected the sugar levels I had to have a few sips.......mmmmmmmmmm........feel all light headed in a lovely warm way.

Really Vony? That is odd! Did you add enough sugar?? I find before sugar it takes the roof off your mouth and the enamel from your teeth, but with just the right amount of sugar syrup, YUM! Warms the cockels!! And you know what, mix it with tonic, ice and a slice and wow, what a gorgeous long cocktail!
Yes I agree with Emma there, even although I don't like sloes (or gin). Adding sugar (or fruit) generally does soften what appears to be a very rough drink. Sangria is another example, only the cheap really rough wine would be used for this, not anything decent ... , also kir ...
