Title: Flower of Shona (Dawn)
Post by: Mrs Ava on November 22, 2005, 23:58:10
Have been keeping up to date with Dawns situation, and am sure she won't mine me letting you know that she went into hospital for surgery on the 20th. The hospital she is in has internet access and she has managed to post on another site that she has now had surgery, is up but in lots of pain, however, she seems in good humour, and I thought with all of our good wishes floating around, she can only get better!

Best wishes Dawn!  :-* :-* :-*

Dawn, Glad your home now and your surgery is over with.  You take it easy and just get those seed catalogues looked at; I am sure you will have plenty of time in the future for all the physical work at your lottie.  I know it must be very frustrating  if you are an active person, but my advice to you during this convalesing time, is give yourself a little project to do.  I am not a very crafting person but when I was ill a few years back, I took up knitting and crochetting temporarily and it was strangely satisfying.  That particular year, everyone in my family got a scarf for Christmas  ;D.

At least at this time of year not a great deal is happening at the lottie, so you can afford to coast along for a while.  Think of yourself as a little bulb in the soil resting over the winter and when Spring comes, then you will start to feel energised and ready for action.  You look after yourself and have a very Happy Christmas.  Lots of love and good wishes. busy_lizzie

Glad to hear the forecast is promising - don't worry about the lottie, let nature look after it!  We've had to miss autumn digging in the past sometimes and do it thoroughly  in the spring - believe me the crops grew just as well (or badly) as they would have anyway!  Take the time to plan your beds and varieties - you will be so organised next year  ;) :)
