Earlier in the year I wanted to grow some Garlic. Being new to the gardening game I thought I'd buy some from Tesco and plant it during Spring.
Basically it didn't do well, as I now know it is treated to stop it sprouting and increase shelf life. I also planted it at the wrong time.
So I rotovated it in.
This week whilst on the plot I noticed some new shoots where the garlic had been. Today while gathering tomorrows dinner I decided to dig one up.
The garlic has self set, and now I have about 30 bulbs about 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" across with superb root structure. They look like small onions and smell really pungent!
Will these grow on to maturity if I place them all in rows and leave them until next year?

Wow! Worth a go!! They sound excellent. Perhaps you've discovered new treatment for garlic... ;D ;)

You have nothing to lose since you already consigned them as compost.
Good luck

You never know. I haven't been successful, but you may do better. I just ordered some from the Garlic Farm which I hope will do better.
