Hi everyone, I have just bought a mini poly tunnel (it's a cloche basically). It's about 3m long x 45cm wide x 30cm tall. And looks like this http://www.organiccatalog.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2010
I'm very excited to be growing veg over the winter and have already sown some Winter Lettuce (Arctic King) in the cold frame ready to be transplanted.
My question is what else can I sow now for growing under my mini poly?
Thanks!
i grow overwintering peas, mizuna, lamb's lettuce, radishes, turnips, spinach and a bunch of other stuff i can't remember!
A lot of the 'orientals' (pak choi, mitsuba, komatsuna) withstand a lot of frost. Mustard 'Green-in-Snow' is bomb-proof. You could also try the cutting chicories: spadona and grumolo are the most widely available.
I haven't managed to buy any lambs lettuce this year. Am i too late to get some and plant. I have a conservatory and a GH if this helps! :-\
Wardy, I've found Lamb's Lettuce seed only lasts a couple of years so you may need to buy some fresh. It's a weed when all said and done so germination shouldn't be a problem - I do mine in the greenhouse in a big flat(ish) storage box. It doesn't need protection but is cleaner and more accessible for being indoors.
Aussie Chick - as long as it's cold and horrible weather where you are it's fine to grow lambs lettuce!

Do I have to buy special winter varieties of these? Or will any do?
Thanks TM. I'll get some going then.
gillian>> for the peas yes, i'm growing feltham's first. the other stuff no! :)
