Title: spuds and asparagus!
Post by: barkingdog on November 07, 2005, 16:29:20
Hello,

This is my first post so be gentle! I'm about to launch into setting up my first veggie plot. I'd like to grow some spuds and was wondering which suppliers are best and which ones to avoid! Also I want to put in an asparagus bed and was wondering which variety everyone would recommend?

Cheers!

For seed potatoes I would certainly recommend Tuckers Seeds.

Been using them for ages and good quality and prices.

Welcome to A4A!  ;D

I will be getting my spuds from our local Growers Association, they are a bargain and apparently very good (first time for me too!)

Worth investigating if you have any in your area maybe?

ours is run by a couple of old boys, is only open for 2 hours on Saturday and Sunday, but they are a wealth of local info and sell everything we need for our allotment for ridiculously good prices (3kg of seed potatoes = £1.20 for example!)
