Title: remedies?
Post by: Ceri on September 02, 2003, 10:57:17
My poor daughter has just gone down with what is probably glandular fever - awaiting results, but looking pretty likely.  No cure, just wait it out - anyone know of any herbal/homeopathic remedies that would soothe?  The poor girl is a wreck - and supposed to be going to Uni in 3 weeks.  I had it at 14 and was off school (and life!) for three months so I'm really hoping she has a lighter bout.

Hi Cerig, sorry to hear about your daughter, GF is the glands in the neck swollen am I right.
So in a compress you can use Ladys Mantle/Dewcup reduces infam.
Wrap around a hot compress of Sage or Thyme keep warm and in place with a scarf.sooths a sore throat.
Drop of Lavender oil or eucalyptus oil to reduce painful swelling.
Last on is tincture or ointment of calendula this also soothes.

Hi Theresa, you are right, and I'll have a go - I've got loads of sage and thyme in the garden so I'll get brewing!  Many thanks
