Title: Car boots !!
Post by: ruth_daniels on September 08, 2003, 11:57:15
I've had a lovely weekend pottering about in my garden. Yesterday I went to a car boot sale where I bought 6 heathers for £2 and a wonderful large bronze grass for 80p !! I buy a lot of my plants from car boots etc as I like to see who I am buying them off and also you get infomation and advice,so much more personnel than the large garden centres.
Also for 50p I found a beautiful set of bamboo wind chimes which my husband has attatched to a thick bamboo pole in my japanese garden....it looks really cool !!
And at last it's raining so a rest from watering tonight !!!!
Have a good day everyone,Ruth.

Aye, but I've still not forgiven Alan Titmarsh his suggestion that you can find all sorts of cheap garden tools at car-boots.

Just why would I want to buy my own tools back? ???

I did a county fair yesterday come home with a cape fushia, eaucalyptus and a purple passionflower where I am going to put them oh well find room. I am like a kid in a sweet shop cannot say no. Prices were very good end of the year I suppose. ;D

I've just been to a local auction (ok, not a car boot, but it's still good bartering!) and saw a wheelbarrow full of tools (a spade, hoe, rake etc) and plant pots. Anyway, I started bidding and got the whole lot for £10!! Bargain of the year I think! And an excellent start for my allotment!

Wow,what a bargain !! I bet you're dead chuffed with that little lot,well done !
It just shows that there are bargains to be had out there doesn't it !
And everytime you use one of them it will remind you of what a good day you had at the auction !!

Best wishes Ruth.
