Just heard that Jill (joji) has been taken to hospital today suffering from hypothermia, after having struggled all day in the rain, digging ditches to save her plot from flooding.
I wish her a speedy recovery and return to this forum, but I will leave the eloquence to others ...
All my warmth

Hi guys
IIIIIMMMMMMM BBBBBAAAAACCCCKKKKKK ;D
Thanks guys for all your kind words. Having hypothermia is NOT funny. It's scary :o :'(
I am ok now and I am sitting here with a bowl of home made tomato soup and wrapped up in a sleeping bag with the heating on.
I wouldn't wish that on any one . I was out in the lottie for 4 hours in torrential; rain and cold winds. I had a water proof
on and a hat. I was just steadally getting wetter & wetter without realising it. The next thing I know is my OH standing next to me and saying are you ok? You look really weired in colour I think you better come in to the house now.
I went in and just collapsed. Both of us are trained in first aid so OH took my temperature. I was waaaaaayyyy low. He took me to hospital and that was that. :)
I am ok now though I am a tuff cookie. lol
Joji, What a horrible thing to happen to you. :o Good your husband got you to hospital in time, hypothermia is no laughing matter. Glad you are feeling better. I know lotties are great but not worth risking your life over, so you take care of yourself. Big hug! busy_lizzie
Joji Lottying in torrential rain and cold. What are you like! All advice on here is always don't do too much, too often. Ee dear. I am dead "nesh" and I am allergic to cold so you wouldn't get me out there in cold and rain for more than ooh about 2 mins :)
It's only a lotty, it aint worth damaging your health for so consider yourself told off ;D
Have you got all the dogs round you keeping you warm like a living hottie ;D
Hi JJ. I hope your hubby told you I gave you a virtual telling off last night when I heard you were poorly!
I agree with what Busy and Wardy say.So look after yourself ok !
I'm so pleased you are feeling lots better and I hope you are wrapped up warm with the huskies! Oooh I'll bet Ziziou is a lovely furry blanket. Oh no ..I've got Barney in my head again...had to endure that again this morning!! ;D ;D ;D
Take care missus!
Hels .

I am dead "nesh"
:) I thought they only said that in Keighley...
Much more importantly, get well soon Jill/ Joji.
Glad to have you back with us Jill :)
Hypothermia is a very serious and possibly fatal condition, I have seen big tough men dropped like new born lambs because of it, and been a victim myself. You are right, it is scary.
Don't feel guilty pampering yourself for a while !
Derekthefox :D

Hope you are feeling better!

Glad you're back home Jill! MY you are a toughghie! ;D
I am pleased you are feeling better. Please if the weather is bad with rain and its cold it aint worth harming yourself. A allotment is there for your pleasure not harm. I am really pleased you are better and I like your collection of doggies ;D. I collect cuddley frogs ( ::) sad aint it a 28 year old bloke collecting frogs ::) )

Jill - so glad you're on the mend. Horrible scary thing to have happened - and crept up on you like that, a lesson to allof us I'm sure, i bet we've all been out in weather we shouldn't have (except maybe Wardy ;D)
Feet up, hot toddies, lovely dogs to keep you warm - better now :)
Chloe
Is that an evil looking Goofy I spy in amongst your doggies??!! :o
lol no hels I got him in a warner Bro's shop he is a wolf. ;D
hahaha! Now I know ! I thought it was a bit strange of Goofy hee hee
Jill, only just read this thread - very scary for you, and glad to hear you're fine now. Bet you won't make that mistake again in a hurry! Remember, if it's wet and windy but a job's got to be done - send someone else ;D
Thanks ellkebe ;D
Well if it happens again I will have better protection. We have been out and bought a MASSIVE blue tarpaulin. During the winter, that is going up as a roof in the places where I need to work. ;D
Hmmm I now have visions of you getting swallowed up underneath this tarpaulin, or perhaps doing a Mary Poppins impression ... ;D
Derekthefox :D
And here was me feeling all sorry for myself cos I've got a bit of a cold. :-[
Glad you are feeling better, but it should be a warning to us all.....did something similar the other week - moved 25 tonnes of horse manure in the rain because I was (justifyably) under pressure from other plot holder to unblock the entrance, took three of us six hours - never been so wet !! Fortunately none of us took ill.
