Title: New Guys on the Block
Post by: Suze_O on September 02, 2003, 02:29:16
I do somewhat feel all us ex Beebies are a bit hesitant in coming forward and expressing our opinions.   Maybe  just a bit shy, or a bit worried about musclcing in (and that is spelt wrong)

By my last count there are 10 of us, so let's continue to post and get this board going.

Hi everyone, this is my first post as I usually post on the beeb but have been upset recently by their change of hours and apparant "don't care" attitude.
I got this address off the pond page I t5hink it was off Teresa's thread.
So "hello" everyone here's to many more ex-beebs and lots of out of hours postings !!!!!

Best wishes Ruth.

Hi Beebers, I also hopped over from the beeb board a while back. I don't know how many of you were around there last year, it used to be a lot of fun but it all started going sour when just a few weirdo's came on who took offence at some of the (in my view) very funny postings. It got from bad to worse and one woman even threatened with a lawyer, almost too funny. Criticism, mainly about cliques, was flying across the board as well and things were often taken much to seriously. I hated seeing that board go down hill and the school teacher's attitude of the mods didn't help matters. On to better pastures and may this one stay green and light hearted forever. This is a great site and it's the people on it that make it what it is. You are all great. Warmest greetings, Ina

Hi Ina

I only joined Beeb board about March and heard reference to the 'Solicitors Letter' but couldn't trawl back far enough to find out what it was all about.  Some peeps take things all too seriously.

Nice to see you here and also hullo to Ruth and the other Beebies.  Hope CG may fly over here. And Yo rose bud - you been pretty quiet girl - don't lurk in the shadows!  If we could get Tim, Lishka, Eric and John etc over then we could have a real harvest home party... and stay up really, really, late!

Yo rose bud

Thought you weren't talking to me!  I could see you lurking, you are not usually so reticent!

I still go to Beeb board, and maybe they may go self modding so we can post after 10 pm.

How's your garden looking.  I am drowning in a sea of beans but toms absolutely rubbish, lovely flavour but bad crop, don't know why.

Cheerz!  Suze

Yo rose bud

I am like you, ain't got a lottie just a gardener growing veggies.  Best ever year beanies and strawbs but rubbish toms.

Yes, not too sure how this will work but still go to Auntie.  Loved the dog joke and also Ina's old ladies streaking. Maybe all will sort itself out in time.

Can I have your advice rose?  I have lovely window box filled trailing begonias, million bells, fuschias, etc.  any mo now Mr. Jack Frost going to be creeping along ....Argh! go away nasty frosty person ..

Don't usually plant up autumn/winter/spring, but you obviously do ..... any suggestions please?  Did think pansies but how hardy are they?  just want a bit of colour/interest at front of house.

Cheers Suze!

OK - so I exist - so hope there is room for one more?
Enough was enough elsewhere - however loyal to good friends. Today was the final insult.

And now I see it - 'post reply' at the top doesn't do anything - but, hidden below, there's another 'post' - now they tell me! - Tim

Hi Tim

I think, given a few weeks or so, the Beeb boards will get up and running again.  Certainly I still go there because I like them and the people, eventually they may restore the ability to post after 10 pm.  Let's face it, come back from work, have a meal, potter in garden, think 'Ah, see what's on puter' and it's closed!

You have whetted my curiosity and will have to hop over the fence and see what the final insult was.

apart  from wiping a message of mine, when the next one was allowed with a similar, almost web annotation, and once again not being open till nearly 11am, which is my morrning gone, you won't find any x rated stuff! - Tim

All right, now it gets serious. You can stop all this and pay attention, the school-master is here. (Well ex.) But who is it? A clue? Dirty Harriet. That do you? :)

Well, I thought on the other posting you were Eric, but now seeing reference to Dirty Harriet .....

I used to be indecisive - but now I'm not so sure

I think it's the closing times that are killing off the beeb. That and them deleting old posts, AND not having a search function.

Anyway it's cosy here isn't it ?

I'm just about getting used to this Board.   I usually start with Passionate about Pets, but that's a bit quiet at the moment.   Then I go to Auntie's "Allotment Tales" - almost empty.   Then to "Over the Garden Fence" and that's empty too.

Hey, did you see a "Host" had posted a JOKE.   To save you looking for it (for those that missed it) "Why did the tomato blush - because it saw the salad dressing".   An amusing joke, but what got me thinking, was the reason for posting it. ??? ???    Or have I got a suspicious mind ::)   I like these smileys, you can have some fun with them, and I've noticed several people do. ;D ;D ;D

I'll do a bit more reading - see you Colin.

Hello - another exbeeb here. Several reasons - new lack of time, other websites to explore, silly opening (or not as the case may be) times at the beeb etc etc. Nice to see familiar names and some new amusing aliases :D.

but I wish folk wouldn't alias - one has to start all over in establishing their likes and dislikes and locality, and what you've told them before.  Tim

I have been flitting back n forth to the beeb, (will have to take it off my home page) but was finding it tedious not being able to post when I wanted to, then I would forget what it was I wanted to ask when it finally opened! :-/
I find this site much more interesting, and  YES it has a search engine!! YIPPEE!! ;D  Plus Photographs can be posted.Interesting to actaully see what someone is talking about. Now if I can just figure how to use these smiley things........ Dotty P.

;)Ok, ok, I admit it - this would have been my name on the Beeb if I had been thinking about what I was doing at the time!
My name there was Sue (the one from Glossop) and I can also be seen occasionally as Palefire on Nice Bites. I think I might re register at the Beeb with my preferred netname if it ever becomes accessible (sp?) to the same degree as these boards. I think my avatar might not be working, so I'm off to edit my profile..........

See ya later

Hello Sue!! - Lishka

Hi Lish and Colin!!

Yes, daughter of Mary and even more comfusingly - Mother Of Sarah!!! How's that for confusing RE students!! I shall try to get my mum to register here and maybe we could meet down the pub one evening?

Yep - Denton - I use the circular car park, sorry I mean the M60/M67 roundabout a lot, Colin, in my travels!!

Love, Palefire

p.s. the colours didn't work for me - I would like to post in my fave script colour of purple. Could Dan possibly help?
