I took my agricultural impliment ... ermmm ... my spade .. down to my new allotment today ready to do battle ...*hangs head in shame* ... I bottled out and phoned the lady at the council and asked if I could take one of the other 3 available ... the crocodile tears must have worked .. she said YES ! so now the couch grass nursery is no longer my responsibilty ... I've swapped plot 73 for plot 89 .. will take pics of both and throw myself at the mercy of you beautiful, understanding, kind, knowledgable, clever, humanitarian, gentle people and hope that you will support my decision (even if your lying) {:¬)#
It's a wonderful decision! Well, cos it is! If someone says you want a )with couch grass, blight, various fungus, sheep, hens and Japanese knotweed? or b) nice clean plot with none of the above..Mmm..tough choice..not! Enjoy, and practice those tears or bottle and sell... Lottie ;D
Been there, done that (and in rented). You made the right decision, your back will love you for it!
Good luck!

Don't think us, think about yourself ! You have made the right decision, and believe it ! I chose a difficult plot only because I had the time, the tenacity, and finally the belief that I would be happiest there.
So if you are happy, that is is the main issue ok!
So enjoy your plot
PS, I am slightly deranged, so ignore me ok?
Derekthefox :D
Blimey Aiken!
sorry if I put you off your chosen plot. :-[ :'(
Weeds generally on our site are bad, even some of the established plots, lottie holders who have been there 30+ years still have bindweed and couch grass, so don't let it get you down.
I will bite my tongue and refuse to comment on your new choice :)
dasymay, you didn't put me off ! lol , I had a good look around yesterday and realised that part of 89 had been worked in the last year so that should save me some work, the back half is a jungle and partly deep in shade (good place for a shed !) Also I will be fascinated to see what goodies are possibly planted there already. Life's an adventure and I've got my rucksack all packed and ready to shoulder. Going down there this afternoon to turn the first sod. {:¬)#
Come to think about it, that may be the one the council rotivated by accident, just after we signed up to ours (in June). They were meant to do one a couple down from it, not sure though.
Have fun!
Oh I will ! and they haven't rotivated and have told them not to. Also, there is a row of spuds in it which I notice one or two other people seemed to have sampled , lol {:¬)#
