Title: Bokashi- Anyone?
Post by: Portsmouthnappies on October 17, 2005, 21:21:55
I have several compost bins at my allotment, wormeries at home, but we still have waste like bread and porridge which make my worms poorly. Has anyone tried a bokashi system?

Porridge you can give to the dog or the birds, same with bread. Bokashi isn't really necessary for the compost bin to work successfully  :)

What's bokashi?

It's a compost activator.  It's like that EM that's being trialled for crops.  It's some kind of mixture of compounds (natural I think) which is added to the soil in dilution.  Bokashi is the same principle for compost. I think it's a mix of elements but in essence it's an activator  :P
