I have 2 rows of Glen Ample and this year they have produced lovely giant rasps, with good sharp, flavoursome, morish, yummy flavour!  Started early summer, full swing by mid summer, and you know, there are still a few ripening even now!

Have had no problems with them at all!  They are held their fruits firmly, no aphids or mouldy fruits, even when the fruits have been there for a while.  Top class in my opinion!

Seconded. Glen Ample do have a tendency to become more acidic when frozen, but most summer raspberries are like that.  No spines.  Don't seem to suffer from bad raspberry beetle (least on my site!) though DO need netting or the birds will scoff the lot!

We're growing early rasps next year, and I've ordered Redsetter, which was one of the varieties recommended by www.organicgardening.org.uk

They also suggested Glen Moy or Malling Jewel.  Their mid-season recommendations are Glen Ample, Glen Prosen and Malling Joy.

I'm adding another vote for Glen Ample. Planted some this year, and even got some fruit! Bought this variety cos I'd picked them at a Pick-your-own last year and they were delicious, and the berries were HUGE!!

The two mid season varieties that I grow are Glen Moy and
Octavia.

Both have excellent flavour and large fruit.  Glen Moy is good in a small space as it is thornless.

Hope it helps
