Title: sunflower seeds
Post by: Shallot on October 10, 2005, 09:37:19
Hi,

I have loads of sunflowers on my plot and would like to dry the seeds either for myself or the birds...is it best to leave them on the stalks and harvest later, or cut them off and bring them indoors or somewhere dry, NOW?

Thanks.

If you want the birds to have them, just leave the plants in the ground and the birds will find them! As for drying, I'm not sure.

Our lottie neighbour takes the seed heads home for his chickens - none wasted that way!!
