Am concerned....I've had a "water collecting device" for some time (now a pond) and it's had ickle tadpole type frog things in for ages, but they don't seem to have got any more frog like - no legs, no arms , no froggy tendancies....I used a non invasive (hmmm) weedkiller which may have got into the pond, do you think it might have stunted their growth?
Bearing in mind I'll never forgive myself if I've created a race of stunted tadpole things......
I've still got taddies in my pond. They have been known to hibernate over winter if they are late developers.
i think heldi is right i hope lol i try to keep frogs out of my pond they have been known to drown fish
the frogs strangle fish to death if you`re not careful in the early spring, they get a boost of testosterone and simply love them to death.!
My poor ghost koi was loved to death......not by me I hasten to add, thought, how sweet, the frog's having a ride on the fish....2 days later it was still there! I couldn't get it off, it's front legs/claws had gone right into the fish's side, felt awful and the poor thing died... :(Â I have a couple of tench now, they seem really nippy and too quick for a loved up frog to catch.....
Perhaps you hurt their feelings by calling them rubbish!
sounds like myticmog has a few bobs in her pond lottie ;D ;D ;D
Oh there's only one Bob, Dibs, and he's getting very excited....soon be that time again...nudge, nudge, wink, wink... ;D
lets hope his plastic legs stay on ;D ;D ;D ;D
He's all growed up now Dibs.... ;D
he looks very grown up i must say ;D ;D ;D very bright colours for a frog you sure bob is not a toad
Mmmm...don't think so, cos he's quite a hopper, not sure why he's put a yellow chain on his butt though.....must be frog thing... :)
i fink the yellow chain is to keep his legs on ;D ;D ;Dso dont take it off
OOoo good point.... :-X
if you take the chain off he will no longer be Bob just blob ;D ;D
I've got some late developing tadpoles overwintering too.
