We grew this lovely plant over the summer, out of a packet of miscellaneous seeds, so I have no idea what it is. I've been collecting seeds for next year, so it'd be nice to have an id. Pleeeese help.
I've posted a couple pics on the website below....they're the ones labelled 'identity parade'. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. :)

purple mallow???
I'd agree Greenwizard,
But Malva as opposed to the Lavatera marked Mallow?!?
;)
ROsieM
Purple form of Malva moschata. The original native one is a paler pink.
bananagirl,
Did your purple identity parade require any watering? I am trying to go for a low maintenance, drought tolerant garden next year and I love those purple flowers!
Pretty much put the seeds in the ground and it grew. Got watered when everything else did. They look good when they are upright...kinda falling over now, and waiting to see whether they'll die off for winter.
PM me your addy shamrock, and I'll chuck some in the post.
Thanks y'all. It does look rather like the mallow sitting on the other side of the garden, but somebody told me it wasn't. Didn't tell me what it was tho. ::)
