Good question, I have some in a pot which look exactly the same and they have grown much taller than those on the allotment.

You do need to be earthing them up now they are that tall though (I've not done mine yet either!)

Well, mine have all got blight... :'( :'( :'( But I've been told to get a big tin, put some of my newly dug ones in it, bury it til Xmas .....wonder if they've heard about my gullibilty problem? Is it this really feasible?  ??? Lottie

If they have blight, then I presume all you will end up with is a tin that is smelly ...

UP - to be 'safe', wait 3 weeks before you lift the rest & then put them in your tin!

Chris - too tall, man - too tall! Don't know, but I would cut the tall ones down to just above the second or third leaf up. And since you have no room to earth up, make it by putting 5-6" ply (?) slats in around the 4 sides.

And put in full light until the frosts.

Thanks Tim, I will try and find some way to earth them up and move them to a lighter place.

Maybe cut only to half their height.

And I don't know about this - very much open to criticism.

Well I found an old bin the the garage and chopped off the bottom and put them over the pot and filled it half full of compost. The top of the shoots just get over the hight of the bin so I did not cut any of it off.

Only have to water and wait :)

Thanks all
