Post by: budgiebreeder on October 31, 2003, 18:19:58
Who 's doing the rain dance? I know we are a little short of water but surely we can spread it out a bit.It seems as though its all falling in West Yorkshire.None stop its been.Slow down a bit chaps Bonfires all getting wet and I do enjoy a good Bonfire with me roast potatoes ,toffee apples etc.

I'M NOT! Quite apart from the festivities.
Waits till you've picked your last bean, lifted the potatoes and most of the beet - so what good is it doing now? Thank goodness we got all our digging done in time. - Tim

Typical though, aint it, you wait from the end of July for a reasonable bit of rain and then what happens. The gutter leaks, the shed roof leaks and worst of all the new porch roof leaks with the water running down the mains electricity cable (where it comes into the house, none of your posh white boxes here). AND you cannot mend any of them until ..........it stops raining.

But Eric, you`ve had 2 month`s of deckchair weather to get all those jobs done!  Reminds me of all those prima donna footballers who manage to put up with their `groin strains`(hernias) all through the close season when they`re on holiday, but suddenly discover they need operations as soon as they have to start work again.

Yes, but you only find out that the things leak when it rains.  In fact the leaks in every case were caused by the dry weather. I'll fix 'em tomorrow. Groin strain or no groin strain.

That's only for the posh kids.
Were still wearing cloth caps in my bit and making our own sledges with bits of wood and old bits of barrels and prams for the runners. :( :( ;)
