I have read all the posts about the risk of disease etc, but I had such problems getting hold of some of the more unusual potatoes (salad blue and highland burgundy in particular) that I would like to keep a few tubers to grow in containers next year. Also, I bought some micro plants and grew them in sterile compost so I should be able to save some of those too ...
However, the question remains: How?
From what I have read, they need to be cold (<5 deg??)
Do they need darkness?
Any other tips welcome please
If it's any help I got salad blue and Highland Burgundy tubers (not plants) from the HDRA potato day at 25p per tuber. I bought four and got such a nice crop the hubbie asked me to save some for Christmas! I hope they have more this next January...
