If they get through those, they deserve to eat my brassicas! ;D
Have to say though, made me smile when I looked up in the big oak tree, there they were, all watching me from afar! I reckon they were taking notes, and deciding on wether a dawn or evening raid, and who was bringing the screwdriver and scissors! :o :o
Hope it does the trick  ;D
Used to enjoy feeding the birds in my garden but not anymore as no matter what I put out the Feral Pigeons always scoffed the lot >:( and marched back and forth between my two feeders ruining my lawn :( Think I need a similar fortress for my garden so that I can start feeding the other birds again.
:o Blimey DP, its like fort knox! Queue mission impossible music...
Twospot you can get bird feeders with metal grils on them that only the small birds can get through and not the bigger ones. May be a good idea to have 2 feeding stations. 1 for the smaller birds and 1 for the pigeons and larger birds :)

Lovely sturdy construction - Hope they don't get through. I too had problems with the pigeons as they ate all the food I put out for the little ones. They seemed to be able to hang on to anything in order to feed.
Of course they have the right to food, as any other bird. Problem is pigeons do not leave anything for the little ones. :'(
Great stuff DP. Now all you have to worry about are the slugs ;D
briilant DP hope it works , sure it will dont think much could get in there
Twospot I forgot to mention good Construction. I think it would take a pigeon with the mind of einstine (Think I spelt that right, you know the chap who worked out the E=MC2 theory) to get into that protected area you constructed :)

What are your hourly rates please? I could do with some of those for my plot!
;D You need to get on to that handy man of yours EJ! ;D
Slugs, darn things, got em the size of hippos, but at least they don't strip the brassicas overnight like the darned birds, and I can cut then in half with my trusty secateurs!! ;D

I did similar for the 2004 season - and you're right nothing much can get in.
Except vandals. Smashed the lot on Christmas eve. I really hope that you have better luck than me, and well done for spiting the devil birds!
moonbells (who really doesn't like pigeons)
Oh no Moonbells, poor you.
Doris_Pinks (not a pigeon lover either!)
Pigeons arent a real problem with my brasicas (though i have them living nearby).
Nope its the bl***y caterpillars that have done for mine this year!
I challenge anyone to build a fortification that will keep those things off!! >:(
