Here are a few snaps taken last week whilst camping at Pooley Bridge
Just LOVE Cumbria. Our annual trek to brother-in-law in Eskdale.
And Lancashire cheese en route.
Hello Tim,we went through to Eskdale to take the kids on the Ravenglass railway. We came through the Wrynose Pass and the Hardknott pass. I was breath taken at the scenery. I didn't take many pics as I was too busy looking and drinking it in!
Great pics Heidi. Took me back a few years and rasied some great memories for the last time I was in that area on holiday was when I did my A-levels! Still love it though although my favourite place is further over for the waterfall at Ingleborough.
Fantastic Heldi. I am Cumbrian by birth & went to school in Keswick. Those passes are so fantastic. Sigh!
Good photos Heidi - you know how to take a proper picture - a bit like meself ;D
nice pictures heidi i love the last one :) :)
Stunning photos Heldi :) When we went to the Lake District a few years ago, we went on the Ravenglass railway (even took the dogs on, they loved it :D). As well as plenty of still photos I took a video of our journey which is great as we can relive the ride over and over :D
Beeautiful pics. Heldi. It reminds me of my manyvisits to the Lake District and I have not been this year!!! Lovely area.
great pics.
:D :D :D :D :D
Lovely photos, Heldi - & what wonderful scenery. I'm very jealous (not of the camping though!!).
Wow :o stunning scenery. I want to go there now.
Heldi. All the pics are beautiful but the sunsets are really stunning. Thanks. Lorna
Wonderful pictures Heldi. ;D ;D
Thanks everyone. ;D
That sunset was unbelievable. I grabbed my camera out from the tent and ran up a hill. Took stacks of pics. It is a view across Ullswater.
It was lovely to sit under the stars even though it was cold on those clear nights. Where I live there is often too much cloud or mist rolling in from the sea to get a clear look.
My darling Ava's favourite place in the world ever!
Stunning sunets.
Haven't been to Cumbria for many years. Used to stay at a lovely campsite at the bottom of the Kirskstone pass at Brotherswater. Sighhhhhhh lovely piccys, lovely memories. Thanks for posting the piccys Heldi. Brought back some lovely times with little binkies.
It's a beautiful place indeed. I'm off there to see dad and stepmum at the end of October and hope to do my usual lightning tour of the best passes and lakes - and the garden centres!
Wow some pictures, Heldi..may I keep some..already have your allotment scene...have walked round The Lake District many times..10 high ones to do....usually start at Windermere BR and head for Coniston then Dunoon Valley and so on....next trip am going from Pooley Bridge to walk 'High Street' finishing at Ambleside. Gotta get a camera..gotta get a camera.
super pics H :)
Amazing photography Heldi. That sunset was incredible. It is a beautiful place to visit. :) busy_lizzie
Heldi, your pics are wonderful.
I was desperately trying not to open this thread as everytime I look at pictures of the Lake District I get the urge to give up everything and move there. I have to limit my visits too and I've only been there twice.
EJ I'm with Ava on this one, my favourite place in the world too.

Hi Heldi. More stunning pics. I am off to the Lake District for an activity Stag weekend in October (mountain biking and kayaking etc). The groom is a fitness instructor and I think I will be out of my depth - it might well kill me!! Perhaps I will ask if I can be the photographer for the weekend!!!
Wow! Thanks for all the compliments. I tried to get lots of pictures from the Ullswater Steamer but because the mountains looked like a watercolour painting in the light my digi camera wouldn't focus. I was having a discussion with a bloke on the boat about how in times like that my old olympus camera would have been just the ticket. The modern stuff aint always the best.
Ofcourse Ken you can keep the pics. I enjoy showing you all what I've seen. Pooley Bridge to Ambleside! You MUST take your camera! I did a hike. From the Waterside campsite...to the pub! Well it wasn't a hike on the way there...but on the way back... ;)
You will have a wonderful time Lord Steve. We saw loads of cyclists on the Wrynose pass. My god they were fit, (sorry didn't want to worry you!)Even saw one having a pee which my son thought hilarious! Do not forget your camera in any circumstance!!! I might be over there in October.
Breathtaking pictures Heldi ! My jaws dropped when I saw the picture of the sunset ! Beautiful... ;D :D :D :D

Tony takes photo and updates the site daily with wonderful photos to whet your appetite. We log on daily for our fix and are never dissapointed. And when we visit my boys spend all their time looking out for him and his dog!
My residing memory of Ambleside is hundreds of wet hikers sitting in the cinema and you couldn't see the film for the rising steam ;D
And dangeroulsy good sticky toffee pudding in Sheila's Cottage!
We'd taken the kids to Ambleside years ago but me and my OH went back there as we wanted a meal in the pub we enjoyed so much then. Could we remember what it was called - could we eck! I had to phone my son to ask him what it was called and for directions. A senior moment to be sure ;D
