I love the surprises. Lovely veg Tim :)
tim, love the wooden dish from the first pic!!! it's just like we use back home to eat our bbq's out of, great for cutting meat on. Did you get them in the UK ?

Hello Tim, What are lurkers Tim please. (still no news).
crumbs tim!!!!
what on earth is that big purple thing?? :o
is it for eating?
or for beating vandals over the head with?
if it's edible i need to know what it is, my daughter has a passion for all things purple. she would absolutely love to grow those....might help to sustain her interest in lottying ;D
Tara xx
I think what Tim means Mary are the courgettes that hide under the foliage, lurking in the undergrowth, meaning they are marrows before you find them!
Here's today's surprise from my lottie. I've been cutting them green and small - but maybe they're supposed to be left till they change colour? It's 39" long !!
peri - beats mine!
Mary - no news is good news??
Tara - I'll post her one!

;D Can you play it? ;D
Oh, NO!
Not ANOTHER lurker??
PS Vaca - just a 'common-or-garden' breadboard.
Watch out Tim, they're everywhere!!
It didn't survive long - it's in Emma's ratatouille chutney in the bottom oven already!!
Surprisingly, it was seedless.
Oh my word!!!!!!! Good grief and many other sayings of that type. Just when i'd decided I don't have time for a lottie you go and show me these and now I'm jealous. I want big veg!!!!
Tara, my purple tiger chillis are a lovely shade of purple and some of the foliage is green, white & purple. They're easy to grow and may be good for keeping your daughters interest. If you pm me your address I can send some seeds from mine.

Camera not working but found a couple of lurkers myself. One a 4kg courgette and the other a bright yellow cucumber hiding the courgettes -thought it was a big yellow courgette at first. Was going to compost it but decided a taste was in order. Well worth it as the cucumber was really sweet -so ate it there and then for lunch.
OUt if interest is that normal? i.e. if I left other cucumbers would they do the same?
Iain
I think that they would put the plant off from producing.
