All advice welcomed: Have nearly a shed on my plot, just missing half the roof. Haven't really been concerned because of good weather, but today's biblical flood type rain is rather nasty reminder to get that fixed.
Difficulty: I only have a bicycle and can only carry what fits in a rucksack. How can I roughly weatherproof it until I figure out how to get a new roof up there?
I guess you could use some plastic sheeting if it's large enough to cover the missing roof and staple or nail the sheet to the shed's frame - so long as the roof is on a slant so the water runs off the plastic sheeting I think this should be ok and should be light enough to carry on a bicycle.
I was going to say the same! I don't know what area you in but we can get fairly cheap tarpaulins at certain shops round here, hey they put them on roofs after hurricanes so should be up for the job! ;D
A big blue plastic sheet with big eyelets from Wickes is £4.99 :)
A neighbour of mine had a large sheet of black plastic covering part of his shed roof. when kids (I assume) broke in and went up on the roof one of them fell through, then kicked his way out through the wall. I hope he hurt hinself.
So do I. Ha! And ner!
Just a thought
Our local Council arranges for a lorry load of pallets to be delivered to the site a couple of times a year.. why not give yours a call and see if they will do the same?
The timber will repair your shed roof, build compost bins and any other bits and bobs your mind can conceive

Our lotty gets a pallet delivery service from a local fireplace warehouse. One chap on the lotty arranged it with them and they deliver to his plot. We can collect them from there. We made decking from ours for the front of the shed and also a compost bin (four screwed together)
