Title: A Yucca??
Post by: Carol on August 16, 2005, 20:15:47
Can anyone identify this yucca for me.  OH says he grew it from seed a good few years ago and we think this must be the first year it has flowered.  It is quite attractive really.

Hope it's one of the hardy ones  :)  I had one from seed and it took about three years before it flowered.  Was spectacular though  :o

There are loads of varieties.  if you do a search on Google images (type in yucca) and it brings up all the pics of the various types.  Good hunting  :)

It must be hardy Wardy cos we reckon the seed was sown about 1989 and already this has moved from one part of the garden to this new place, the corner of the conservatory and D.Room area.  It is fully exposed to the SW wind, which blows most of the time but it has flowered.  I think it is quite attractive in a peculiar sort of way.  Thanks for your response, maybe this should have been in inedibles.
