Title: Chili Identification
Post by: wivvles on August 16, 2005, 13:47:08
Does anyone know of a reliable database - preferably with a key - that would enable me to identify my chili plant?  I thought it was a Bolivian Rainbow, but the flowers are six petalled and pure white, not purple. The fruit are borne singly at the nodes, pointed and about 1/2" long and about 1/4" at widest point.  They start of pale green with purple streaks and ripen to a very blood red.  The plant is about two feet high, happily living in a five inch pot on the office window sill - currently about forty fruit and loads of flowers. Any thoughts - or a link to a decent website - gratefully received.

I've been ploughing through the pictures and I think the one I have is a "Christmas" - described as ornamental.  Does this mean I can't eat the chilis?  One site described them as mild and slightly sweet?  I'm  ???

Sorry - forgot to say thanks to Diana and EJ for the links! ;D

Found this website whilst linking from one of EJ's links - has an excellent database with loads of pictures including flowers.  Not so sure now that it is a Christmas!!!!
