I raided a skip the other week and have 4 sheets of 3 wall tinted poly carb sheeting 6ft x 4ft,
I was thinking of using one for a lid for a cold frame and cut the others down for use as cloches, will the tinting effect the plants ?
I thought the "tint" was the film covering which protects the polycarb in transit but which peels off when you're ready to use it. It is very fine and you'll need to get your nails under it to get it off ;D
If it is the case that it is tinted I don't think it would matter :)
I know one side is specially treated to face the sun, and got mine wrong when I constructed this greenhouse.Left it tho as only on the side, mostly near the fence anyway.
it's defiantly not a film it looks like it's been some roof panels of a Connie
Anything that reduces the light levels will affect the growth of plants. Maybe you could use it for really shade loving plants? I personally wouldn't try to grow veg under it.
