Title: Tomatoe blight?
Post by: daveandtara on August 11, 2005, 22:56:28
what does tomato blight look like?
I've done a quick search on pests and diseases but can't find any pictures or descriptions.
two of my tomatoes have brown marks on. the marks are on top of the skin and look as tho you could rub them off (but you can't).
other than they they look perfectly healthy.
any ideas?
Tara xx

On the leaves it starts with round, dark brown spots, then the leaf turns yellow with brown, crispy edges. On the stems you get dark brown places that rot away until the plant collapses. On the fruits you get brown places that look like they are under the skin.

This discription is not very scientific, it's just my own observation and believe me, I've seen too much of it hahaha.

Dave and Tara, I just read your description again. If the places on your tomatoes are a greyish brown, rough and on top of the skin, could it be scarring or sun scorch?
