Title: AOL not receiving mail
Post by: Icyberjunkie on August 11, 2005, 15:17:51
I am signed up with AOL on the silver package and for some reason it is not accepting e-mails from people with a hotmail account.

I have got spam and blocked e-mail directed to my spam box, McAfee firewall, and the the AOL setting 'mail from all users' is allowed.

Anyone got any ideas for I seem to get mail okay from everywhere else including here!

i hate AOL. i have a perfectly normal email account (not even hotmail) and it's never been hijacked by a spammer but even so we seem to be on the AOL blacklist :( so, people with AOL email addies cannot expect any emails from me.

sort it out, AOL!

PS: you will be able to send emails from AOL to others that cannot send to you. figure that one out!

We have AOL Broadband Gold and my daughter uses MSN and hotmail too and we have no problem using either/both.  I think AOL is wonderful and they have been so helpful when we have had queries about our system.

I can also recommend their parental controls.  My boys hate it but it has certainly been worth it for peace of mind that they cannot access anything they shouldn't.  I am around when they use the PC but it is amazing what the reports have picked up that they have tried, or they say, the PC must be doing it itself!

I use AOL Broadband Silver and it works very well.. I have been with AOL for a few years now and have found it easy to work with.

One strange thing recently was I suddenly stopped receiving e-mails for several days and that was extremely unsual. I got someone to send a test mail and it arrived OK...within a few days everything was back to normal.... weird

AOHell is the spawn of the devil.  We were with them for seven years and I really do not know why!  Left them about four months ago.  They had a major upgrade a little while before that where their "heightened security" was bouncing regular emails back to their recipients left, right and centre!  About 70% of their account holders suffered the same thing.  It wasn't just Hotmail accounts being bounced, it was all different servers.

I was going to say that not being with them now, I wouldn't know if the problem was ever sorted, but obviously from this thread, I see that it hasn't!
